James L. Goodwin State Forest23 Potter Road
Hampton, CT 06247
Come to explore a stand in the James L. Goodwin State Forest which has been passively managed for close to 100-years and accumulated a critical mass of old forest structural attributes. Our special guest, Dan Evans, DEEP State Lands Forester, will guide us to see how forests play an important role in combating climate change. In Connecticut, the concept of managing forests to promote late successional, old forest structure has gained attention over the past few years, and we'll talk about actively and passively managing forests.
