Alert 11/20/24 - An emergency burn ban is in effect for all Connecticut State Parks, Forests, and Wildlife Management areas, prohibiting the use of all outdoor grills, firepits, and campfires, and the kindling and use of flame outdoors. DEEP and local agencies are working to contain several active fires across the state. Please avoid all affected State Parks and Forests and the blue-blazed Mattabesett Trail. The following areas are currently closed: - Lamentation Mountain State Park- the Enduro Motorcycle Trail at Pachaug State Forest- Mansfield Hollow Field Trial Area Please note that today's forest fire danger report remains at an ‘extreme' level. Additional information about the current fire danger, burn ban and recommended safety measures can be found at this link. The Airline State Park Trail is currently closed from Estabrooks/11th Section Road to Station Road in Hampton, to facilitate trail maintenance and hazard tree mitigation projects in that area.
