Dinosaur State Park Speaker Series - Dr. Dalton Meyer
Dinosaur State Park400 West St.
Rocky Hill, CT 06067
We are excited to welcome Yale paleontologist Dr. Dalton Meyer for the Dinosaur State Park Speaker Series! Dr. Meyer is an incoming Assistant Teaching Professor of Biology at Sacred Heart University whose research centers around the evolution and fossil record of lizards. Despite being the most species rich group of living tetrapods (animals with four limbs), major questions remain about the origins of the major lizard groups and how their characteristic features evolved. Dalton uses 3D, digital anatomic data from both modern lizards and the fossil record to pursue answers to these questions and to gain deeper insights into the evolution of reptiles more broadly. He is originally from Loveland, Colorado, and spent his childhood visiting the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. He has more recently received his PhD from Yale University, and while doing so worked extensively with the Yale Peabody Museum in New Haven.
The talk will take place in the auditorium of Dinosaur State Park's indoor exhibit center.
This program will take place from 1:00 - 1:45 p.m.
