Haddam Island State Park

Paddle out to this undeveloped 14-acre island in the lower Connecticut River, and you can have your own private oasis for the day. This island’s small sandy beach is perfect for swimming, fishing, and casual picnicking - note that there are no restrooms or trash receptacles on the island, so please plan accordingly.

One of the few boat-access-only parks in the system, the island is a slice of solitude and a spectacular spot for birdwatching, especially during migration.
