Beaver Brook State Park

Windham/Chaplin, CT

If you’re looking for a little solitude out in nature, Beaver Brook State Park is right up your alley. The undeveloped scenic preserve offers 401-acres of untrampled wilderness, freshwater ponds, and wildlife habitat perfect for boating, hunting, and fishing.

A dam slows the Park’s namesake, Beaver Brook, to create a series of freshwater ponds – so clear you can see the fish! The largest, Bibbins Pond, was originally maintained by beavers and sustains a sizable trout population upstream.

Add a bike ride to your visit and connect to the Air Line State Park Trail, which creates the Park’s northern border.

Tip: If well-marked, manicured trails are more your thing, probably best to save your nature walk for another park and let others contend with the brambles and bushwhacking.
