Trains and Trails

Combine history with ecology on this guided exploration of the historic Airline Trail and surrounding area. While we search for the flora and fauna of the surrounding forest, we’ll learn how the railroad shaped the region and influenced James L. Goodwin’s forest management. 

Slow-paced walk, relatively flat ground and moderate rocky wet areas, about 3 miles total. Please bring appropriate footwear, water, snacks, insect/tick repellent, and any other necessary items. Binoculars available to borrow.  Free, open to all ages.
