James L. Goodwin State Forest23 Potter Road
Hampton, CT 06247
Explore the forest from Mr. Goodwin's perspective! Find out what we can learn from trees, what they do for us, and how we can protect our forests in a changing environment. Two versions of this program will be offered, one at 10:00am and one at 2:00pm. Each will last approximately 1 hour and begin in the Discovery Room within the museum building.
The 10:00am program will be more hands-on and geared towards kids, but all ages are certainly welcome! Practice identifying, aging, and measuring trees while learning about forestry practices at Goodwin.
The 2:00pm program will be lecture-based and geared toward adults, but suitable for any interested audience. Learn about Goodwin's impact on forestry and discover the old trees that surround the museum. Discuss the current state of CT forests and the impacts we have on them.
Program will be offered at 10:00am and one at 2:00pm, each lasting approximately 1 hour. See description for topics.
