Biotic Breakdown

Get your hands dirty with nature's recycling system! Learn about the decomposers that keep environmental processes running behind the scenes. Meet in the Discovery Room attached to the museum before heading off onto the blue-blazed Natchaug trail to catch these organisms at work. Additional craft offered for younger participants.

Distance hiked on the trail will be short, but with many rocks and roots. Proper footwear required.

Program offered at both 10:00am and 2:00pm, lasting ~1 hour. Suitable for all ages.
