Connecticut Traveling Environmental Educators (CTEE)

The CTEE Program is designed to reach audiences that normally would not have exposure to State Parks educational staff. State Parks staff is dispatched to various locations to interact with the public in a positive, educational, and inquisitive way. Through interactive experiences, children and adults can learn more about the natural resources of Connecticut and our beautiful state parks.

FAQs

Where does CTEE host programs?

Thank you for your interest in State Park educational programming. CTEE is designed to reach audiences in a dynamic and adaptable way.  Our programs are meant to teach through interactive experiences. To that end, we have the ability to meet your group at any of our CT State Parks/Forests, or to come to your location (e.g., library, community center, school, etc.).

How do I attend a program?

Some of our calendar events include a registration form. These are helpful because some programs must be capped due to parking restrictions. If there is no registration form, feel free to follow the directions provided on the event announcement page and simply join us! To register for current programs please visit our registration form.

Who can attend a CTEE program?

All are welcome.  Please note that some of our programs may have more advanced content than others. Also be aware that many of our programs are outside, over varying degrees of rugged terrain, including paths with rocks, tree roots, hills, and other obstacles. Please read the event description beforehand to know what to expect.

What types of programs do CTEE run?

Our programs are predominantly hands-on, and participants usually leave with newly gained experiences and knowledge. Programs topics include ecology, geology, history, biology, agriculture, and outdoor skills - check out our Program Guide for more information. Let us know if there is something specific you might want to learn about, and we can look into the potential of a new program.
